Celeb Stylist Karla Welch on How to Pack for any Vacation

Intent on making 2017 your Best Year Ever? We can help with that, thanks to our 2017 Coach of the Month series. For November, join stylist-to-the-stars Karla Welch in her personal-style bootcamp. This week, make your life easy: How to pack for any vacation.

If you’re headed for the snow…

Pair: A cute fitted sweatpant with a sweater and a little scarf around your neck — not a big wooly scarf, a chic little scarf.
Pair: A turtleneck underneath a sweatshirt plus tights, comfortable footwear, and a cute sock.

For a vintage ski look, pair: A high-waisted corduroy pant with a little sweater, tucked in plus suspenders.
To get dressy, pair: A knit turtleneck dress with Timberlands.
TIMBERLAND
Timberland Waterproof Internal Wedge Boots, $160; timberland.com SHOP
Hot tip: It’s okay to repeat outfits when you’re on vacation. Go for functional. There’s nothing worse than a woman in heels when it’s snowing outside. Just wear boots and rock and roll with it.

If you’re headed for the sun…

Pair: A bikini or one-piece that makes you feel incredible with a super chic coverup— lately I like wearing a men’s oversized white linen shirt
Pair: A sexy tank dress with Nars Heatwave lipstick.
NARS
Nars Heatwave Lipstick, $28; sephora.com SHOP
Pair: A one-piece with a great pair of shorts and a hat, Rayban Wayfarers, and Neutrogena sunscreen.
NEUTROGENA
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Lotion, $9; target.com SHOP
